The government has announced the formation of four new reform commissions dedicated to health, mass media, workers` rights, and women`s affairs.
National Professor Dr. AK Azad will head the health commission, while columnist Kamal Ahmed will lead the commission on mass media.
Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmed has been appointed to oversee the workers` rights commission, and Shirin Parveen Haq will head the women`s affairs commission.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser on Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, shared this information during a media briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Thursday evening.
She indicated that the commissions will be fully staffed with members within the next 7 to 10 days.
Present at the briefing were Chief Adviser`s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam and Special Assistant Mahfuj Alam.
The Adviser emphasized the government`s commitment to media freedom but urged caution against the dissemination of fake news and disinformation.
